Poets Two - Wine Label
Poets on Payday is a small company based in Marrickville, making wine from grapes grown in the Central Ranges of NSW. They approached me to design a label for their second release - a Sangiovese called ‘Two’.
The brief: Do ANYTHING you want.
The result: a label based on a childhood obsession - model aircraft.
Always a sucker for a unique and eye catching wine label, the inspiration came from the decal sheets you get in the box. This became the basis for the design, then working in the unique details about the wine and it’s contents. The Supermarine Spitfire was the chosen aircraft; elegant yet strong with an iconic look that most people would recognise.
"P.O.P. shows there is more to cool climate reds than Pinot Noir. This Sangiovese from the Central Ranges of N.S.W. is unfined and unfiltered for max taste: think red cherry, strawberry, and a hint of black pepper. Hand harvested and fermented by wild yeast - this delicate wine’s tannin and acid structure make it an approachable drop for both the novice and wine geek."
